“a city can be beautiful even without makeup”
A2)
Anaglyph photography has made a difference in many people’s lives around the world mainly in the form of entertainment. Stereoscopic photography is the reconstruction of the illusion of depth from a flat surface to making it look like it’s actually in front of you. It is also known as 3D photography when you produce a three dimensional image from a two dimensional image. To create this illusion, there is a scientific process behind it. Each eye distinguishes a picture in a different way because the human eyes are 2½ inches apart from each other. Along with an appropriate viewer, when you get two separate images and put them the same distance apart our eyes produce the illusion of depth. Sir Charles Wheatstone who made geometric three-dimensional drawings invented this concept. He also built a device that allows you to see those drawings called a reflecting mirror stereoscope, which is now conserved in London at the Science Museum. In the late 1930’s, the stereoscope’s strength started to weaken and so William Gruber invented another application for 3D. Gruber also created a way to demonstrate three-dimensional views with a new flexible 35mm film presented by Kodak. Anaglyph is a word taken from two Greek words that mean, “sculpture” and “again”. It’s basically when you take a pair of images and overlay them which generates a different perspective known as depth/space when viewed with glasses that contain lens of opposite colours such as red and cyan. In 1953, the anaglyph had started to appear in various forms of media like comic books, magazines and newspapers. One of the most remarkable applications of anaglyph to printing were the 3D comic books created by two comic artists Norman Maurer and Joe Kubert. In conclusion, anaglyph photography is used by many people to this very day and is increasing rapidly as new ways are been found to make viewing 3D photography much easier for you and me!

2) What is a narrative?
A) A narrative is basically a story and the person who retells the story is called the narrator. Stories are arranged in a productive layout which portrays a series of non-fictional or fictional events. A story contains three parts known as the beginning, middle and end. It consists of characters that each play a different role in the narrative like the protagonist who is the main character and the antagonist who is a main character or a force that is in opposition to the protagonist. Most people define characters as the “good” guy or the “bad” guy. These characters in a story have a problem creating a rising action leading to a climax turning to a falling action, ending with a solution to their problem well-known as the conclusion. All of this takes place one after the other, creating a story which is usually fictional.
3) What makes a good narrative? Explain.
A) There are a few important things that makes a good narrative. Firstly, the person who is telling the narrative which can be a character in the narrative or someone else who doesn’t have a role in the story and is just reading it. By knowing who this person is, you get to understand the point of view as of which it’s being told from and if the narrator is a character, you get to know more about their personality by what the character says or does in the story. Secondly, the distinctions in a narration like changing the tone of your voice when retelling a story, makes the listener more entertained. Also, the details and actions added along with the narration, enhances the story and makes it enjoyable to see or hear. Thirdly it should be an appealing to the people who read it so the plot should be interesting in a way that makes then want to know what will happen next.
